Buckland's Book of Saxon Witchcraft was one of the first books to explore Wicca from a solitary perspective. He writes cogently and informatively about the history, mythology, spiritual practices, and witchcraft of Saxon England. Wicca for One The Path of Solitary Witchcraft (Book): Buckland, Raymond. Wicca for Beginners: Fundamentals of Philosophy & Practice is probably one of the best introductory books to Wicca that I’ve ever come across. Heavily interested in the subject of this nature religion, I’ve leafed and read through many a beginners (and advanced) book over the years, but this has to be one of the most complete and unbiased /5.

The Wiccan Rede was most likely introduced into Wicca by Gerald Gardner and formalised publicly by Doreen Valiente, one of his High Priestesses. The Threefold Law was an interpretation of Wiccan ideas and ritual, made by Monique Wilson [83] and further popularised by Raymond Buckland, in his books on Wicca. Buckland's Book of Saxon Witchcraft was one of the first books to explore Wicca from a solitary perspective. Originally written 30 years ago to correct abuses he saw occurring in covens, Buckland offered Wiccan seekers an introductory text on Saxon witchcraft or Seax-Wicca /5(4).

Wicca For One is an excellent book for beginning to the path of Wicca. I purchased this back in and read it from cover to cover and have re-read it several times since then. It's an excellent book for anyone interested in Wicca.

It remains my favorite Wicca book/5. I first came across this book some time ago at the public library and always wanted a copy for my own resource library. As a beginner's or book, I preferred this one over Scott Cunningham's Wicca for the Solitary.

Although I respect both authors immensely and much of the info is the same, I prefer Buckland's style of writing/5(). Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft has influenced and guided countless students, coven initiates, and solitaries around the world.

One of modern Wicca's most recommended books, this comprehensive text features a step-by-step course in Witchcraft, with information on rituals, beliefs, history, and lore, as well as instruction in spellwork, divination, herbalism, healing, channeling.

Scott Cunningham's classic introduction to Wicca is about how to live life magically, spiritually, and wholly attuned with nature. It is a book of sense and common sense, not only about magick but also about religion and one of the most critical issues of today: how to achieve the much-needed and wholesome relationship with our Earth/5(K).

Before Wicca for Beginners came out, for years Scott Cunningham’s book Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner was the go-to beginner Wicca book. It’s an easy, friendly read and non-dogmatic. Unfortunately there are some historical inaccuracies in there—Cunningham admits Wicca is a modern religion but tries too hard to connect it to ancient Witchcraft, and to fit Paganism into one Reviews: This book combines the gentleness Wicca for one book Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner with some of the more intense sections of Mastering Witchcraft and The Prediction Book of Practical Magic.

Then it adds a generous helping of humor and straight talk. This is probably one of the best Wicca books that I have read. I had mixed emotions about the first chapter of the book. Buckland talks about TV witches and calls some questionable historical characters as possible witches.

But then I proceeded to read the following chapters and I realized that the first chapter must be read without taking 5/5(5). Probably the best example of how bad her work is can be found in her books on Faery Wicca. In Book 1 of Faery Wicca, pg. 5, Stepanich writes in italics under “Lesson One: The Traditional History”: Unless one knows their tradition’s origin and has their roots firmly planted in this origin, one cannot successfully deepen their spirit.

However, there’s much more to learn about Wiccan deities than what could be contained in one article. Read More About Wiccan Goddesses. If you’d like to know more about some specific and fascinating Goddesses, I highly recommend that you check out my book Forbidden Wiccan Spells Vol.
